Thoughts of football (all varieties...)

Next weekend I will be wearning yellow to support both the Mountaineers and the Tigers. Insanity abounds.

My fantasy soccer team sucks, with the exception of Steven Gerrard. I have no idea why they suck so bad, I thought I put together a pretty good team. if you have any ideas as to how to improve, please let me know. starting lineup is as follows:
gk: howard
defense: carragher, ingimarsson, bocanegra (go usa!) and lescott
midfield: gerrard, dempsey (again, go yanks!), davis and taylor
forward: drogba, utaka
bench: hahnemann, ferdinand, rosicky, crouch

Go West Virginia!

I'm watching WVU beat up on UConn right now. Pat White and Steve Slaton are quite the dynamic duo. This game is also crucial because if WVU wins, it keeps Ohio State out of the national championship picture. The Buckeyes do not deserve to be playing for a national title. That cannot happen. As a Penn State fan, I cannot in good conscience root for Ohio State.

Also, the Big Ten season ends way too early. Those teams end up hosed because they end two weeks before everyone else. Give each team a bye week instead of playing 12 straight and end the season a week later. I don't get why that's a bad idea. Except that I don't even want to see my Nittany Lions play right now. I just can't deal with the ineptitude of all parties involved.
